"Vaen mayar" means "last chance" in the same tongue spoken by the whorling that brought the Jracini to the Inferno, Jatha'la Mzil. It is named this only because it is located on the very last and smallest island in the chain under the protection of the weyr, and therefore the last chance to encounter civilization before one hits the sea. The haven itself is located in a small crater heated by geothermic vents and is filled with all sorts of vegetation that cannot grow anywhere else in the chain, making it an ideal spot that hosts numerous populations of llithra, firelizards, and any other wandering critter that decides to make its home there.

All jracini on the island are available for breeding purposes without requesting permission, all Jatha asks is that you drop him or his assistant Chu'tgera a line mentioning that you "borrowed" them. He's got to make sure they're taken care of, after all
