Never one to be extremely patient, every day that passed without a new dragon entering the hatching bays to lay her clutch left him on end. "What if there will never be another clutch?" he asked Kasatka as he let her tend a cut he had sustained on his hand. Heaving a sigh she often sighed at the day-care where she had continued to work once they had had the 'ware operations, Kasatka reached for more bandages and said, "Love, there will always be more clutches. Look at the flight boards! It's over...well, maybe not overflowing with dragon-mothers, but there are plenty females up there. Now..." she finished wrapping the cut and kissed the palm of his hand. "Back to work for both of us, nap time is almost over and they'll be needing me."

Humphing softly, Forgeron kissed is mate goodbye before returning to his job, helping with some maintenance being done to the heating/cooling system of the hatching bays. Switching to his bear form, he helped lift a new unit up to be mounted and nearly dropped it when a cat-like woman perched upon a railing not far off said "Lin'? Hi, are you busy? No? Okay, good. Jirairtai's clutch is hatching--" into a curious device known as a "phone". "Clutch...hatching?!" he practically shouted, just as the woman jerked the phone from her ear as whoever she was talking to gave a mighty yelp from the other end. Very nearly dropping the unit on one of his fellow workers, Forgeron bellowed, "HURRY UP, CUBS!!"

Those working with him just stared, clearly not knowing that on Svalbard "cub" was a derogatory remark when said to one who was clearly an adult. Still, they hurried and once done, Forgeron took off at full-lope for the day-care a level up.

He hadn't intended for the children to be leaving the room for a play-break in the larger lower levels...he hadn't intended for them to shriek in pure terror at his arrival. How could he know that a four-ton bear in full battle armor running at top speed and skidding to a halt with a roar looked scary? Needless to say, the children scattered and Kasatka shouted various curses at him, some he was sure the parent's of those children wouldn't have been too thrilled for them to hear.

When semi-order had been restored, Kasatka whirled on him and began to shout, "You should know better, Forgeron Sirynson!!! These chil-" but he stopped her by butting his muzzle against her stomach. "THERE'S A CLUTCH HATCHING!!!" His bellow echoed and sent the children back into a flurry of discord while Forgeron grabbed Kasatka by the back of her coat and ran with her in his mouth to the bays. "What the @#$! do you think you're doing!?" she bellowed herself as he, unintentionally roughly, deposited her outside the bays. She immediately took her bear form as well and snarled.

"Look!" he said and nodded at the eggs, four of which exploded simultaneously to deposit two reds, a purple and a blue. Quelled, Kasatka shut her mouth and followed Forgeron onto the soft mossy bay. The pair had no sooner began to settle when the purple and lighter-colored red approached them. The palely lightning-marked red chose Forgeron and said in a deep, confident voice, Forgeron! You, I like you. My name is Yarro, and I want to fight at your side. The little male glared boldy up at him, as if sizing him up before rumbling.

Kasatka turned to look at Forgeron and the both smiled as much as it was possible too in their bear forms. "Her name is Kinya..." she said in a small voice. "He is Yarro." Forgeron responded. Prodded by the hatchlings, the pair began to leave the bay until the Archivist, a wolf-like being who approached them and asked their names and the names of their bonds. Forgeron spoke, glad to see someone who wasn't afraid to approach him while he was in his bear form. He wasn't that imposing, was he? "I am Forgeron, and this is Yarro." Said hatchling glared up at the wolf from between Forgeron's massive forepaws. "These two are Kasatka and Kinya."

With a nod the wolf turned back to the hatching and the foursome left the bay for meat for their hungry bonds.
