Nodo' was woken one early morning by Musei's grumbling and pacing about the room. Stretching like a cat, he rose and gave her a quizzical look. Kertakth! That shaffing dragon! She just up and left in the middle of the night for no reason! Leaves me here in a place I just barely know to stand for a clutch I didn't even want to in the first place! Wait until I get my claws on her... her curses and threats faded off as she left the apartment in search of... something. The cream rukel rolled his eyes and made himself comfortable before falling back to sleep.
Even though it was fairly early in the day-shift, already there were a few crowds of people shuffling off to work. Museitetsujinth didn't really like this place, there wasn't anywhere she could be alone, with no noise or people or anything... even in her temporary quarters there had been Kertakth and her incessant chattering and movement. But she hadn't minded Kertak's presence that much, she'd been the only real friend Musei' had had in her life. Now, the dragoness had dissappeared and left no reason why. Deep inside, Musei' had wanted Kertak' to be there if she bonded.
She stopped by a huge window that overlooked the planet's brown rim, half in shadow, half illuminated by the sun. The stars were much brighter when you were amid them, with no fires or candles to take away from the cold, white light they shown with. Musei' had never felt lonely before... with all this space around her and her best friend gone... A sudden voice made her jump, followed by a warm skittering as Nodokaikko scrambled up to her shoulder making gestures of urgency. An announcement rang loudly over the speakers interspersed throughout the station, it said that Usaroflyin's clutch was hatching.
So? What do I.... wait, isn't that the clutch that Kertakth signed me up for? Nodo' nodded furiously, and began to prod the reluctant Musei' toward the sands. She drug her feet, the of excitement she had felt at bonding while Kertak' was there had fizzled slightly and was the last to make it to the sands. A pair of dragonets had already hatched by then, both appearing to the from the Ryshathian sire's bloodline. She didn't really pay them much attention, too wrapped up in her own (slightly over-dramatic, a trait she must have adopted from Kertakth) gloom to notice.
Staring at her feet on the mossy ground, Musei' never noticed the little Earth half-breed kit that approached her silently. He stepped into her eye-line and gazed up, not relaying any sort of welcome message. The bronze dragoness blinked at the little purple-brown, he blinked back. She smiled, You don't say much, do you? He only shook his head in reply, but Musei' felt a name being pressed into her thoughts, Zotto Usadah. Well, come with me, let's get you fed. Following the silent kit off the sands, Musei' could help but thank Kertakth in her thoughts. She's gonna be sad she missed seeing you hatch, Zotto...
