"Someone bring me some fellis juice, and where in the name of Faranth is that blasted healer!" Y'les lifted the unconscious Kassandra and climbed back onto Yassorth's back. "Take us up to our weyr, maybe we'll have better luck there." he shouted to his dragon, who promptly lifted off, trying not to jar the two on his back too much. He landed on the ledge as gently as possible and knelt for Y'les to slide off. "Nova!" he shouted, carrying Kassandra into his sleeping chamber and putting her on his bed. The drudge called up the shaft, "Yes sir?" "Send me some fellis juice and water and get Gerald here now!" Clanking and grinding issued from the service shaft as the fellis and water was sent up and he was sure that Nova had immediately scurried off to find their drunken healer.

Yassorth crooned worriedly at Kassandra, his massive head hovering in the doorway that connected his weyr with Y'les's sleeping room.

I want to help her...

"You can help her, try to block the other voices. Oh! And tell Kayla what's happened, she could help since she sort of is like this."

Sort of? She has the same ability. She and Kadith come soon.

"Yes, but it's not as bad with her."

Only because she's used to it, she grew up around us dragons, your friend hasn't. Yassorth had to leave his ledge so that Kadith could fit, and also out of courtesy for the Senior Queen. "Is this your girl that can hear dragons?" she asked, quickly surveying the situation as Kadith settled. "The dragons have been saying something about this, but I thought it was a mistake." Kayla knelt next to Kassandra and examined her. "She's lived remote from dragons all her life, I guess she never known about it." Y'les explained, setting down the jug of water and fellis. "Come to think of it, she always did have an unusual hold on all the firelizards...they sometimes would listen to her before their own humans." "So she's never been where there was a large congregation of dragons, eh? No wonder she got her socks knocked off." Kayla said, the worry in her voice betraying her light-hearted approach.

Just then, Gerald was almost literally dumped onto the ledge by a blue. He stumbled into the weyr, the stench of wine exuding from him. "Lets have a look at 'er." he slurred, stumbling his way over to the bed. Y'les stopped him before he got there. "You need a cup of klah, better make that a few cups." Y'les said to the healer, fanning his face to try and drive the wine smell away. "But she's hurt, 'n since I'm the healer it's my duty to.." Kayla whirled on Gerald then, fire flickering in her eyes. "You are the healer, that's true. But healers aren't supposed to be constantly drunk! I think you need to leave now, your position as healer is taken from you." Gerald stood, his mouth moving stupidly trying to form a response when the bluerider returned. "Please escort Gerald here to his quarters. Or off the Weyr property, whichever you see fit." With a huge grin on his face, the bluerider collected Gerald and securely strapped him to his dragon, leaving the ledge. Y'les suspected that Kayla had told the dragon to send Gerald away.

"I should never have hired that lout.." she murmured to herself, once again attempting to rouse Kassandra. She poured a cup of water and mixed in fellis juice. "Help me, would you? Just hold her up so I can get some of this down her throat." Y'les hurried back to the bedside, gently supporting Kassandra as Kayla poured the fellis-laced water into her mouth. She coughed and spluttered, but swallowed most of it. "Give her the rest of that when she wakes up, and have Yassorth call me as well." Kayla rose, setting the half full cup down. "Will do." Y'les said as he cast a concerned eye to Kassandra.
