Faszje, I want you to take these eggs and care for them. Don't let any light touch them and never leave them alone.

The demonic god Vrine'winith had sent this clutch of infernal eggs via a corporeal minion unknown to Faszje, a great, bloodied-white dragon that stared calmly with his vibrant red eyes as he offered the vast basket completely muffled with a deep, black cloth. Faszje thought it would be a simple enough job, certainly so compared to the things he'd had to do for his incorporeal boss before. Just keep an eye on a nestful of eggs, keep them dark and safe. Simple. Until the nightmares began...

The eggs spoke to him in his sleep - moreso than his strange bond with the slavering, constantly homicidal Pangari. When he slept he delved into a world of blood and madness. A desire to kill and sacrifice to unknown things of darkness, things possibly even greater than the malevolent god he served. What was worse, Faszje's nightmares drove Pangari even further into his madness. In the morning Faszje would wake to the mutilated bodies of the animals Pangari had killed in the night to sate the desire for blood.

Pangari had a such a strong dislike for the eggs that he'd several times tried to trample the eggs, but they seemed strangely resilient and resistant to all damage he tried to inflict. He'd even eaten half of them once - recovering those had been revolting. Yet still they remained. Faszje had finally found the pair a cavern to stay in permanently, high on a snow-covered mountain with little nearby life for Pangari to torment. Once settled, a thick, unmovable fog settled in the cavern and surrounding land. What few animals had lived nearby all fled, leaving Pangari to claw and bite himself in that lust for blood.

What was worse, Faszje seemed to fall into a sort of half-coma where he was barely lucid, lost in those horrible dreams and slowly starving to death. If only the eggs would hatch, Faszje was sure he'd be freed... If only...
