After another long day in the library, Modomnoc happened across a book he thought he should have found long ago. It was about Avengaean dragons, how they grew and lived and their culture. Here he also learned a fact he thought he should have found a long time ago. "Laudu, why didn't you tell me earth dragons loose their wings when they grow to adulthood?" The earth dragon shrugged as he poured over a book on magics and flipped his soon-to-disappear wings. "I figured you would know by now, that book's been pretty prominently displayed. Besides, I've been planning for it. There are spells here I can use once I grow up to help me fly and create portals to travel between worlds. You will want to leave to find your family, correct?"
Leaning over to examine the book Laudu was reading, Modomnoc's eyebrows rose. "Spells? You can do magic?" The dragon whuffed in laughter. "Yes, I can do magic. I can also do this." A brilliant yellow glow blinded Modomnoc. He threw an arm up to cover his face and Apaka and Saräv squealed and took to wing. Once the light faded, in Laudu's place was a dark-skinned and green-haired young man, one roughly the age Modomnoc had been when he'd arrived on Avengaea. "Wha...Laudu?" The man grinned and brushed his barely shoulder-lengthed green hair out of his eyes. "Yep. And I thought you'd read some of these books!" Laudu shrugged and resumed his draconic form, flipping the page in his book.
