The blue and white flashed disoriented Helleri the moment she and her brother entered the portal. Buffeting winds rattled them from side to side, all the while Rølvaag kept a crushing grip on her hand, and she on his. Tragically, their grips were not tight enough to prevent the winds from wrenching them apart, her brother bellowed in fury as they drifted away. She screamed once (and was later embarrased at her show of fear, how silly) and reached for him. An emptiness swallowed her up before she could even think of what to do, rendering her blind, deaf and shivering.

Blessed warm air brushed across her cheeks as she came to, eyes opening to meet blinding sunlight and blowing trees. Her view was soon obstructed by a huge, blue muzzle and sparkling blue eyes peering down at her curiously. She leapt up defensively from the beast, trodding on some creature who gave a mighty yelp before sinking teeth into her ankle. Gritting her teeth, Helleri reached back and pulled the beast from her leg, holding it by it's be-stinged tail.

It was silver, with one set of wings and a set of wing secondaries, long, saber-teeth and malevolently glowing eyes. She felt it's greedy little mind flow into hers as she held it, only vaguely aware that it had just bonded to her. A meter away, the blue creature that had disturbed her rumbled softly, as if clearing it's throat to get her attention. Helleri lowered the flit and gazed intently at the blue and the human who had appeared from around it. "Hello, I am N'mal, and this is Eskarth. We are from Starburst Weyr. Who are you?" The man's voice as politely suspicious at the girl who had just dropped from the sky beside him.

"I am Helleri, of the Gu-" Then she thought, "They would not know of the Guard here, best not let on who exactly I am." "I am Helleri." she finished simply, still holding the struggling silver by it's sting. "Very well, you are Searched for the senior queen's clutch at Starburst. Come with us." For a moment, Helleri felt like struggling, like running off into the forest away from this man and his beast. Something in her stopped her, though. A curious tugging sensation came from the northeastern section of the sky and she looked toward it. "Starburst is that way." the man commented, now astride his blue beast.

Helleri accepted the leg-up Eskarth offered, tucking the silver (whom she had decided to name Ryniv) into her coat as Eskarth spread his wings and took to the sky, headed back to the weyr.
