The jump was so abrupt that Canti bellowed aloud, though it went unheard in the blackness of between. She was sure Selvaggioth's proddy brain had left them trapped. Relax fuzzy! If you squirm loose, you're screwed! Sel' snapped back, gripping the turquoise's shoulders more tightly (though neither of them felt the increased pressure). At last, they broke through into warm, clean air over a huge forest. Once the sun hit Canti, she wrenched free from the orange's grasp. You're crazy, Selvaggioth! Not warning me? I could have been lost! she snarled to the orange, lashing out with her taloned forepaws.
Sel' easily dodged the blow and struck back with one of her own, talons grazing the fur on the front of Canti's chest. Thanks for the gratitude, see if I ever ferry you anywhere again! the orange trumpeted, spiraled off and jumped back between, leaving Canti hovering behind her. Then she realized, she was stuck wherever Selvaggioth had left her. What if it was some uninhabited forest planet? This filled her heart with such fear that the turquoise went on a frantic hunt for civilization. It seemed like hours that she searched before arriving over a bowl teeming with other dragons.
Canti bellowed with joy and dive-bombed the bowl, so eager to be among her own kind again. Several dodged from her path as she shot for the ground and nearly landed on her nose. Noticing the approaching earth, she flipped into a quick backwing and merely landed on her rear a little harder than was comfortable. Looking about sheepishly, she called "Sorry!" to those nearest and crept off in shame through the nearest archway. There she came upon a scene that promptly brought back memories of her own hatching. A huge, hot, sandy room where not the usual one but four dragonesses hovered over clutches.
Leaning over the largest and closest to hatching was a familiar red-white-striped green dragoness. "Hey, I know you. You're from Draco's Inferno..." Canti said to the green. She lifted her head and smiled mentally to the turquoise. Why if it isn't little Canti! Though you aren't so little anymore. What brings you here? "Eusyscth! So this is where you disappeared to...I had been wondering. And I see what you've been up too, as well." If dragons could blush, Eusyscth would have been then. She quickly lowered her head to nudge a few of her eggs, knocked some fresh sand over them with her paw and inspected a few of their shells for a few minutes before she continued. You still have no bond, Canti? Would you like to stand for one of my clutch? Eusyscth was always quick to direct any attention from herself, so the sudden subject change wasn't so sudden to Canti. She smiled warmly at the red-white striped green and murled. "Oh, I don't know...You think I will be a good candidate?
Of course you will, Canti! I have no doubt about it. Now go, get yourself signed up. I will send Solange to check and make sure you have. The last half was said in such a motherly, admonishing tone that Canti couldn't help a small salute, saying "Yes, ma'am!" before she turned around and marched off the sands, going on a giddy search for someone to sign her up. She would find someone to love her here, she just knew it.
