Lying next to the weyrlake panting, Z'riel cursed his wolf-form for the first time. His fur was more suited to cold environments, and it was far from cold in this place. Kohavaeth splashed around in the weyrlake and called out to his rider, Why don't you come for a swim? It would help you cool off... "I don't like water much, except to drink." The diaspore-space spread a wing and swept it through the water, causing a wave that soaked Z'riel before he could move. Now looking something like a wet rat, the white wolf just stood. Ivenal'a had run shrieking from the wave and now returned, trying to smother his laughter. "Echi is all wet..." "I know I'm all wet, Iven. It's your turn now." Before the little creature could react, Z'riel snatched him gently up in his jaws and took a running leap into the lake, landing near Kohavaeth with a large splash. Iven came gurgling up to the surface and frantically swam to Kohavaeth, the dragon coming to his aid by lowering his head for him to crawl onto. The wolf surfaced soon after, paddling around. He would have been laughing too, if he could have in that form.
Ha! Now you're all wet, Iven! the dragon rumbled as Iven shook himself off on his head.
"Not funny! Iven can't swim!"
"Oh, I thought you were swimming just fine!" The sunset stuck his tiny tongue out at Z'riel as he paddled around Kohavaeth, howling in wolf-laughter.
